AMCC 2004

January 31 - February 7, 2004
Copper Mountain, Colorado

The National Brotherhood of Skiers has enjoyed another successful annual event. AMCC 2004 brought more than 1400 people to Copper Mountain, Colorado for a week beginning January 31, through February 7, 2004.

Subaru of America, our new title sponsor this year and the official vehicle of the NBS unveiled a new marketing platform for our organization, the special edition NBS Outback which will be seen in cities throughout the United States. Subaru along with American Airlines, Upscale Magazine, Vail Resorts, Intrawest, Anheuser Bush, Vicks Vapor Rub and others helped us provide our attendees with an outstanding event.

The conditions were excellent at Copper. Members and guests enjoyed winter sports on fresh snow almost everyday. For the competitive set, there were races each day, organized by ability level. For non-skiers, we had daily activities ranging from dominoes and card tournaments to couples games. Once all the information is gathered, winners will be posted on the website.

Many of the Team NBS Athletes participated in this year's event. Errol Kerr, Justin Samuels, Ray Huff Jr, Brandon Purnell, and Suki Horton were all on hand. Not only did they race and train, but they were out on the slopes skiing with our members, helping everyone to have a good time and to remember why we do this. Our other Team NBS Athletes were involved in competitions out of the area including Andre Horton, Danielle and Gabrielle Govan. Ralph Green, voted the Bonnie St. John Athlete of the Year, was competing at the World Championships in Europe. The NBS family wishes all of our athletes the best as they compete this racing season. Suki and Andre Horton will be competing in the US National Championships at their home hill Aleyska, Alaska.

The NBS National elections were held and these are the officers for the new term:

President - Andrea Yowman
Executive Vice President - Schone Malliet
Treasurer - Garry Bostick
Secretary - Juanda Moore

The location and date for the Summit 2005 were announced. Vail, Colorado will host the NBS Summit 2005 from February 5 - 12, 2005. As details become available, we will update the website. Please be patient and keep checking back.
