Partner Program

The National Brotherhood of Skiers offers its ski club members another level of participation via the NBS Partner Program. Our corporate partners help us provide additional benefits to subscribers across the country by offering program participants “most favored customer” status for the goods and services they offer. Here’s how it works:

For an additional fee, NBS club members can subscribe to the Partner Program. Individual memberships are $25; family memberships are $50. This fee is a donation and a portion may be tax deductible to subscribers. The NBS Partner Program offers many tangible and intangible benefits.

Initial corporate partners include Intrawest and Vail Resorts Inc. Both are offering NBS Partner Program participants a discount on lodging, lift tickets and green fees when traveling independently to their winter and summer resorts. Individual discounts cannot be used on group trips. For the list of available properties, please visit Vail Resorts and Intrawest. They have committed to offer NBS Partner Program subscribers the lowest individual rates available. Typical discounts range from 10% to 15%.

Subaru of America is a major corporate partner and the official car of the NBS. Subaru will support the NBS Partner Program by offering subscribers preferred pricing on the purchase or lease of any new Subaru vehicle, a value of up to $3000. The NBS is eligible to receive a 20% discount on all Subaru Gear by L.L.Bean ordered for staff, events and other promotional uses. In addition, for each vehicle sold, Subaru will make a $100 donation to the local club that you are a member of.

Vail Resorts also brings GearDirect.com and RentSkis.com to the NBS Partner Program. GearDirect.com boasts the nation’s lowest prices on sports gear and clothing. Partner Program subscribers will receive an additional 5% discount off of the already low prices of GearDirect.com merchandise. RentSkis.com offers Partner Program subscribers a 25% discount off of the daily rental rate, 20% discount on tuning, and 10% discount on accessory purchases on items under $100. Both GearDirect.com and RentSkis.com will also contribute to the NBS Olympic Scholarship Fund based on subscriber purchases. Again, subscribers benefit and drive additional benefits to support the NBS mission.

Additional corporate relationships are being developed. The NBS Partner Program will continue to be enhanced as more and more benefits are negotiated for subscribers.

NBS Partner Program subscribers will receive discounted registration for NBS national events, including AMCC and Summit, as well as reduced charges for fee-based functions at these events. For example, there will be a special Partner Program rate for the OSF fundraiser events at AMCC 2004 at Copper Mountain. For the NBS ski club member who attends the annual national event and at least one other trip per year, the Partner Program pays for itself.

Where will my fees go? In the first year 60% will be allocated to the NBS Olympic Scholarship Fund (OSF), with 40% split between program administration and NBS operations. Subsequent years will see the OSF allocation decrease to 25%, with 20% to NBS ski clubs, 20% to NBS regions, and the remaining 35% split between program administration and NBS operations.
