I'm President of the Metropolitan Detroit Ski Council (MDSC) of which your
club is a
member. The MDSC was able to arrange a seminar with Warren Wetherall and we,
along with Performance Zone, are picking up the tab so that all MDSC club
members
can attend the seminar FREE! I was able to attend a previous seminar put on
by
Warren and was very interesting - anybody who attends will gain from the
experience.

I've got a problem . . . because the seminar was not arranged until last
week, and since
it will be held on December 9th, I need to get the word out to anybody as
quickly as
possible. A copy of the below text was distributed to all MDSC club
Presidents for
them to distribute at their meetings, and I've talked about it with Sharon
Burell, you ski
club's MDSC Representative - she'll be getting a copy of the info too. The
internet
seemed to be an ideal way to distribute to the most people as quickly as
possible.
Would you please include a notice on your home page, something that can be
immediately seen by anybody logging on, that this seminar will be available
and that
they can refer to the below text for any further information - thanks and I
really
appreciate it. If an MSWord, text, or WordPerfect file would be easier, let
me know. My
work number is 810-497-4564 and home is 248-253-9532.

By the way, the MDSC should have their home page up before 1998 and we'll be
sure
to have a link to your home page.

The Metro Detroit Ski Council, in conjunction with Performance Zone is
sponsoring a
seminar on skiing and balance, with featured guest speaker Warren Witherell.
Warren,
considered to be the definitive expert of the carved turn and modern skiing
for more
than twenty years, is the noted author of the books The Athletic Skier and
How the
Racers Ski.

This seminar will inform you of how important balance is in skiing and how it
can be
directly affected by poor knee alignment and boot fit. You'll learn some
basic methods
used to evaluate stance and balance, and how easy it is to correct these
deficiencies
which can result in an immediate improvement in your skiing ability.

Where: Pine Knob Ski Resort, I-75 and Sashabaw Rd. Exit in Clarkston

When: Tuesday evening, December 9, 1997 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Performance Zone is a new store in Auburn Hills which specializes in custom
orthotics,
custom boot fitting, stance evaluation, and balancing. They also do "off the
shelf" and
custom bracing for all your needs. Performance Zone is the only store of it's
kind in
Michigan that is staffed by board certified Orthotist and Pedorthists.
Attendees may be
eligible for a free evaluation.
