Ebony Ice Ski Club is a non-profit organization and was founded in 1989 by three African Americans skiers after participating in a Ski Summit with the National Brotherhood of Skiers.Ebony Ice started as a social organization with the purpose of promoting skiing and other winter sports for African American Youth. The club includes all levels of skiers, snowboarders and has a yearly four weeks ‘Learn2Ski Program’. We are more than just a ski club; we get together at "Jazz-n-Park", weekend camping trips, Saturday morning bike riding, youth events, participate in the UNCF walk/run and we do ski! The Mission Statement of Ebony Ice Ski Club: To expose, identify, select and finance the training of a potential Olympic-caliber minority youth and promote skiing and snowboarding within the African American Communities. The goal will be accomplished through fundraising and local sponsorship from individuals, foundations and corporate organizations.
