Summit 2007 • Regional Events
Events
The NBS has year round activities, but our premiere activities occur during
the winter; one national Summit, four regional winter events, and a host of
individual club trips. The NBS provides the opportunity for over 20,000 enthusiasts
to enjoy major resorts, various types of entertainment and experience first-hand
alpine, snowboard and other competitions featuring nationally ranked athletes.
The Summit is the largest, continuously
running ski convention in America. Organized and hosted by the National Brotherhood
of Skiers for each of the last 30 years, this event is unique to the winter
sports industry. Unlike other ski weeks, in addition to winter sports access
and competitions, this event includes our annual meeting, a full program of
night time parties, concerts, a formal dinner, non-ski activities, and youth
camp. It is our primary, NATIONAL fund raiser which supports our mission,
through the Olympic Scholarship Fund, and year round operations.

In addition to the Summit, the regions have their own
regional events. These events, also known as Winterfest or Winter Carnival,
are held annually and attract 500 to 1200 participants. What you can expect
at a regional event is more great skiing and snowboarding, apres ski and evening
parties, entertainment, and networking with hundreds of new and old friends.
Funds from these events support the NBS Regional Youth Programs, as well as
the regional operations of the National Brotherhood of Skiers.
