The WAX SKI CLUB of Rochester was formed for the express purpose of introducing the sport of skiing to African Americans. WAX SKI came into existence in 1984 and accepted the goals of the National Brotherhood of Skiers, Inc. (NBS). WAX SKI members have participated in every (NBS) Summit since 1984. We also participate with the NBS Eastern Region Presidents in quarterly operational meetings.

We don't stop when the snow melts and the lifts shut down. Non Ski activities include our annual Season Opener, Winter Celebration, Season Closer, General Meetings and Happy Hours. Wax Ski has a number of other social activities throughout the year, including our annual pool party, bike rides, golf outings, and whatever else members feel like doing.
PROGRAM GOALS
· Provide the opportunity for young skiers and boarders to develop
athletic and social skills.
· Encourage participation by making it easy and inexpensive for
families to have their kids participate regularly.
· Develop skiers for future race participation.
· Have fun
