    Club History

All Seasons Ski Club (ASSC) is one of twenty-three clubs within the Western Region of the National Brotherhood of Skiers, Inc.  (NBS).  ASSC was formed in 1972 by a small pioneering group of African American skiers who encountered few like themselves on the slopes.  In 1974, ASSC and eleven other ski clubs across the U. S., founded our national umbrella organization the NBS.  Our initial goal was to meet and ski with other African Americans across the country.  The organization’s goals were eventually expanded to reflect its desire to identify, develop, and support athletes of color who will win international and Olympic winter sports competitions representing the United States.  Against numerous odds, each year we get closer to realizing this dream.

In 1976, All Seasons Ski Club was incorporated as a California non-profit organization.  As the oldest and largest NBS club in the Northern California, our membership can reach to well over 200.  ASSC is an adult ski club with members representing ages from the early 20s to over 50.  Our club offers group ski packages to venues all over the world, social outings, activities, and networking opportunities to reflect the diverse interests of our members - single & married, male & female, skiers, boarders, mono-skiers, and non-skiers alike.  ASSC also provides support to its namesake youth organization,  All Seasons Youth Ski Club (ASYSC).

    Club Meetings

    Monthly General Membership Meetings
General membership meetings for All Seasons Ski Club are typically held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM.  Meetings are held at the California Ballroom, 1736 Franklin Street in Oakland.  These meetings are subject to change due to holiday or major trip conflicts.  A monthly newsletter that’s mailed/emailed to members will notify them of any changes in advance.  And, we always give a warm welcome to our visitors.

General Meetings, organized by the club officers, are held primarily to share upcoming trip details and to discuss organizational (club, regional, and national) information with members and guests.  These meetings usually last about two hours and allow enough time for networking, guest speakers, and socializing.

    Quarterly Extravaganza Meetings
Quarterly, our club has special Extravaganza General Meetings to celebrate its members and visitors alike.  During these special meetings, regular club business is discussed and the meeting ends with the attendees sharing in a potluck and socializing.  Come check us out... we look forward to meeting you!

The All Seasons Ski Club Officers meet during the last week of the month.  For more information about the Officer meeting times or to arrange for a presentation to the General Membership, please contact the ASSC Secretary or other club  Officer.

For more information about All Seasons Ski Club activities, check out our  Activity Calendars or call the  ASSC Hotline: (510) 644-4150.  The ASSC Hot-Line is available 24 hours a day.  Otherwise, contact our  Activities Chair, DeWayne McDaniels  (510) 444-6096
